Mindful Monday: Great power comes from within

"I cannot always control what goes on outside.
But I can always control what goes on inside."
~ Dr. Wayne Dyer:

We can't always control what happens to us, but we can always choose how we react to it. That's another way to say the same thing as Dr. Dyer is getting at.

We can work with breathing techniques, affirmations or meditation to help control what goes on the inside. Most important is to realize that we always have a choice in how we respond or react to any situation, whether we could control it or not.

I see what you are saying (and tell myself the same thing a lot), but perhaps there is a balance. Sometimes we get too wrapped up on what's happening in our minds and forget to slow down and pay attention to what's in front of us - which can be a wonderful perfume coming from the trees, or birds singing, or the warm air on our arms. That can be very calming and sort of like a "mini vacation". I guess in the end, I am indeed, supporting your point. If I stop and pay attention to the outside, it will ultimately redirect me to take care of what is in the inside... ;)
